My name is Chhoun Rathkhema. I have been studying at Smartkids International School for around 12 years from the end of 2010 until 2023. I began in E.GEP in Pre-K class! I transferred from SIS after I finished Grade 9 for K.GEP in 2023.
In the end of August, I will be going to study at Eastern Mediterranean International School – EMIS in Tel Aviv, Israel, I applied for EMIS school and got accepted with a scholarship!
I really liked my time studying at SIS. I met a lot of nice friends, studied with good teachers, and had a lot of fun. I learnt many new skills, not just academic skills but social, interpersonal, and intrapersonal skills as well. Smart Kids shaped me to become a successful student and enabled me to get a scholarship to study abroad at a very young age. My family was also supportive, providing me with every opportunity I needed and cheered me on. My friends and teachers were there for me every step of the way, rooting me on to my best potential.
My advice for all students that want to study abroad is obvious, you need to study hard as scores are extremely considered once you apply to schools and scholarships. Moreover, you need to have the passion to learn and be curious to learn more about different skills. You also need leadership skills, perseverance, and many other soft skills apart from technical skills. Most significantly, you must be proficient with the English language since it is worldly spoken!
