Kindergarten
Young Learners Are Curious and Creative. Foster Their Potential and Creativity Through Plays.
SIS’s international K-Curriculum adapts four subjects: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies from American Education Reaches Out (AERO) and the US Common Core State Standards (CCSS), issued by the United States Department of Education from which to ensure students become active and creative learners for next school level. Check our curriculum highlights.

Hooray! We definitely enjoy our fun and relaxed STEAM projects!
SmartKids Kindergarten Class
English Language Arts
From RL.1 to L.6: With prompting and support, students learn to ask and answer questions about key details in a text. Students further learn to use words and phrases acquired through conversations, reading, and being read to, and responding to texts. Students develop their pre-reading and pre-writing abilities through Jolly Phonics
MAthematics
From AERO.K.CC.1 to AERO.K.G.6: Students learn to count to 100 by ones and by tens, to count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence. They further learn to solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem and more. Students also learn to compose simple shapes to form larger shapes. For example, ‘Can you join these two triangles with full sides touching to make a rectangle?’
Science
From K-PS2-1 to K-ESS3-3: Students learn to plan and investigate to compare the different effects of different strengths or different directions of pushes and pulls on the motion of an object. Besides, students also learn to communicate solutions that will reduce the impact of humans on the land, water, air, and/or other living things in the local environment.
Social Studies
From AERO standard 1 to AERO standard 8: Students learn to identify stories about past events, people, places, or situations. They learn about conflict, cooperation, factors that contribute to cooperation and ways of dealing with disagreements. Students further learn to distinguish between needs and wants, tools and technique.
Approaches and Methods
PLAY-BASED
Young children learn best from fun lessons; therefore, play-based themes are encouraged here.
Steam Corners
Different types of plays at self-directed learning environments such as centers for Mathematics, Book, Writing, Art, Music, Science, and Dramatic Play are child-centered here to allow kindergarteners to explore and acquire knowledge about science and social science, technology (smart toys such as Music Blocks, LeapPad, Pixter, Question-Air and GeoSaferi Talking Microscope), engineering or entrepreneurship, art or architecture, and mathematics.
Refresh Time
Since concentration span of most kindergarteners lasts less than forty minutes; therefore, Physical Education and Arts Education serve students to recharge and refocus.
Confidence Boosting
While in social science class, in-person visits of parents, school principal, school administrators and community helpers encourage cross age communication on different topics from which students acquire new knowledge and step by step build self-confidence.
The World Time
Knowledge exists beyond school. Twice per academic year, students enjoy trips to visit and explore different parts of their community.
